How do i change from xp professional to xp home edition?

I have windows xp professional and i need to change it to home edition i have the cd for windows home edition but every time i put it on it tells me i already have a new version help?!?!?How do i change from xp professional to xp home edition?
Im not sure about down grading but you could try this

take your xp Cd and format the hard-drive .

then shut down computer and on boot-up place the home edition CD in the drive and install the home version ..

Now I know this way works:

installing ubuntu first once this is done.

There is absolutely no reason to do this. Home is just a stripped down version of Professional.



You would be downgrading, hence the message you are getting.
