How to change Windows XP theme?

I've downloaded a few but it doesn't work. Can anyone explain to be from A-Z? Dont forget anything thanks!How to change Windows XP theme?
you have to install them in the themes folder.

any fonts that came with it will have to be installed in the font folder



wallpapers go in the windows/web/wallpaper folder



and any sounds go in the media folder.



then just access and insert your theme via the windows interface.

look go onto desktop(i got a windows xp pc as well!) go to desktop---%26gt;right-click in the middle or anyware---%26gt;then go on the themes tab then select the theme you want.
I have vista, so i'll try. Go to the desktop properties. Then in the tab that opens, search for the theme you want to apply
