How Do I Change Windows XP Register Name?

My computer is registered as the name owner .

where do I go in my computer files to change the name ??How Do I Change Windows XP Register Name?
i will give you instructions, but be VERY careful. the registry, which you'll be using to change the name can be a very dangerous place if you change something you didn't mean to - so be aware.

1. Click Start

2. Click Run

3. Type regedit in the textbox and click OK.

4. Regedit should load. Browse to this registry key:

HKEY LOCAL MACHINE

SOFTWARE

Microsoft

Windows NT

CurrentVersion

5. In the right panel, double click RegisteredOwner

6. In the value data field, change the name to whatever you wish

7. Click OK

8. Exit regedit and log off or reboot.

as i've said you need to be really careful when using the registry, make sure you follow the instructions to the letter and are only changing that one key value. How Do I Change Windows XP Register Name?
Try control panel -%26gt; appearance and themes
I just recently did this myself ....

Click Start %26gt;Run then type in regedit ...

Left click on the plus sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,

Then left click on the plus sign next to SOFTWARE,

Then left click on the plus sign next to MICROSOFT

Then left click on the plus sign next to WINDOWS NT

Then left click on CURRENT VERSION,

You will see ';REGISTERED OWNER'; down the left column on the right pane.

Double left click on the REGISTERED OWNER then you will have a small window pop up and you can change the ';VALUE DATA'; there, then click OK and close the rest out.

Don't mess around too much with the registry, because it could and can cause your system to crash
right-click my computer, choose properties. Go to computer name tab. Click change. Change the name there.

the computer will ask you to reboot after you change it, do so.
