Change windows XP login screen?

My brother changed something on his computer so that when he turns on the computer, a picture shows up instead of the regular blue background on the log in page. The ';Shut Down (Blank)'s Computer'; button in the bottom left corner has changed to ';Have A Nice Day!'; My brother won't tell me how he did it! Any idea how?Change windows XP login screen?

I personaly hack apart windows all the time, a great way to accomplish what you are describing is to recode the system32 file.
