How to change from xp to windows 7?

i got a probook as a gift couple of days ago but when i opened it there was no installation thingi.... after saw that it was in windows xp!!!???? i mean i told that person i didnt like windows vista because it had problems long time ago but now windows 7 is released and it solved all of the problems... soo i really want the windows 7 how can i change it???



should i have to go somewhere to do that and should i have to pay?

or can i do it at home?

Talk to the person who gave you the gift - and probably went to a lot of trouble and expense to get you XP. And no, Windows 7 did not solve everything. It introduced new problems we haven't even found yet while it did solve a lot of Vista troubles. But some of the Vista troubles aren't in XP.



Maybe the system came with Windows 7 and you could get the disc and install it yourself. Or you might have to buy the OS, but installing should be simple. You should be able to direct the install to a different partition and have a dual booting system to use either OS as you wish.How to change from xp to windows 7?
I don't think that you can insall windows 7 over windows xp.
