How to change from windows 98 to xp?

ok first of all the only reason i want to change is for the pc to read my flash drive; kingston 100/ 2 GB. if u have any driver for it that is garantee it's going to work i don't need to change to xp. if not then how to change from windows 98SE to XP i can't get the diskete whatso ever and i have the xp bootable cd it just the computer doesn't read it . I really prefer if i have the driver for the flashdrive becasue i don't want to change it's going to make the computer slower

To be perfectly honest you would be better off buying a new pc, if the machine is old enough that it was new when win 98 came out then it it won't like XP very much and certainly won't like anything newer.
